Jehovah Witness Publication Quotes

If the accused denies the accusation, the investigating elders should try to arrange a meeting with him and the accuser together. (Note: If the accusation involves child sexual abuse and the victim is currently a minor, the elders should contact the branch office before arranging a meeting with the child and the alleged abuser .) If the accuser or the accused is unwilling to meet with the elders or if the accused continues to deny the accusation of a single witness and the wrongdoing is not established, the elders will leave matters in Jehovah's hands. (Deut.19:15-17; 1 Tim 5:19, 24, 25; w95 11/1 pp. 28-29) The investigating elders should compose a record, sign it, put it in a sealed envelope, and place it in the congregations confidential file. Additional evidence may later come to light to establish matters."

"TO STOP abuse, you must know it when you see it.  In the numerous books on the subject, experts have listed dozens of telltale signs of abuse that parents can watch for.  These include: complaints of pain while urinating or defecating, genital infections, abrasions or lesions in the genital area, the sudden onset of bed-wetting, appetite loss or other eating problems, precocious sexual behavior, a sudden fear of such places as school or parts of the house, periods of panic, an extreme fear of undressing, a fear of being alone with a familiar person and self-mutilation."

"However, be careful about jumping to conclusions.  Most of these symptoms do not by themselves necessarily mean that a child has actually been sexually abused.  Each could indicate some other problem."

"If your child discloses sexual abuse, you will no doubt feel shattered.  But remember:  Your reaction will play a major role in your child's recovery.  Your child has been carrying an unbearable burden and needs you, with all your adult strength, to lift it from her or his shoulders.  Praise the child for being so brave as to tell you what happened."

"The intended victim should remember that the rapist is a human.  No doubt there are circumstances in his life that have precipitated his behavior.  So although a woman should not cower in fear and permit a rapist to intimidate her, at the same time she should treat him understandingly, as a fellow human."

A person can be in the

Jehovah's Witness Organization

and not be aware of the

Two Witness Rule.

Statement: "Really, How did  you know of the Two Witness Rule

even as a child?"

When your "acting out," when you display the signs and symptoms as mentioned above you are told,

"Don't let this happen again!"

"You don't want to bring reproach upon Jehovah's name."

"Do you really want to talk about this in front of the Elder's?"

As a child sexually abused I was sensitive to the magazine articles and talks given at the Kingdom Hall.

I listened very closely to the "Scriptural Support" given.

I understood very clearly that there was not another person (witness) present to officially see what was happening.

In my elementary mind I knew the Two Witness Rule meant:

No One Saw It Happen

Therefore It Didn't Happen

Trust Jehovah!  He Will Take Care Of It In Due Time

Wait For Armageddon

Take The Matter Before The UnGodly

Disobey Us You Disobey Jehovah

Years later when I shared the abuses in my life.

Molestation as a child and Rape as a teenager.

I was told, "You must of done something wrong to have this happen."

"Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing."

~ Luke 23:34

There is HOPE!  There is HEALING!

Scriptures Used To Support The Two Witness Rule

"One witness cannot establish any wrongdoing or sin against a person, whatever that person has done. A fact must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. 16 “If a malicious witness testifies against someone accusing him of a crime, 17 the two people in the dispute must stand in the presence of the Lord before the priests and judges in authority at that time. 18 The judges are to make a careful investigation, and if the witness turns out to be a liar who has falsely accused his brother, 19 you must do to him as he intended to do to his brother. You must purge the evil from you. 20 Then everyone else will hear and be afraid, and they will never again do anything evil like this among you. 21 You must not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot." *

Deuteronomy 19:15-21 HCSB

"If any of you has a legal dispute against another, do you dare go to court before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? 2 Or don’t you know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest cases? 3 Don’t you know that we will judge angels—not to mention ordinary matters? 4 So if you have cases pertaining to this life, do you select those who have no standing in the church to judge? 5 I say this to your shame! Can it be that there is not one wise person among you who is able to arbitrate between his brothers? 6 Instead, believer goes to court against believer, and that before unbelievers! 7 Therefore, to have legal disputes against one another is already a moral failure for you..." *

1 Corinthians 6:1-6 HCSB

"Don’t accept an accusation against an elder unless it is supported by two or three witnesses. 20 Publicly rebuke those who sin, so that the rest will also be afraid." *

1 Timothy 5:19-20 HCSB
